  • Last year we had the chance to check out the offices of The Good, an Interactive Design Agency based in Portland. Well, they’ve upgraded and shot a bunch of photos of their new space over for our consumption.

Right off the bat, the space is MUCH bigger, with a lot of room to move, and eventually grow into when necessary. It also looks like the space would get a massive amounts of light on sunny days. I’m enjoying the wood beams, carpeting in the conference room, and of course the classic Eames designs.

Here’s a bit about the space from Jon Macdonald:

“The building used to be a railroad store house, bringing back the roots of the Pearl District neighborhood which used to be all rail yards. As such, we were able to take advantage of the massive ceiling height, large windows (a necessity for cloudy Pacific NorthWest) and industrial touches such as the concrete floors and massive wood beams (that contain a rail system for a large crane which is stored in another unit).

We moved into this new space in September, 2011. We have previously been cramped into a 1000 sqft loft in the same neighborhood (Pearl District) and had been looking for a suitable space to renovate for almost a year.

It took 4 months of renovations, including design, demolition and construction.”
