DLA Piper – Perth Offices

Firm
  • Client DLA Piper,
  • size 28,000 sqft
  • Year 2012
  • Location Perth, Australia,
  • Industry Law Firm / Legal Services,
  • Whenever I think of law firms, images of stuffy dark libraries with huge double-height ladders rolling around on the walls pour into my mind. DLA Piper’s offices, designed by Woods Bagot, has much the opposite styling while still being sophisticated.

A few notes on the project:

“Office design for lawyers is different than other workplaces. The workstyles and culture are unique, and understanding the subtle differences between the practice groups within the firm must be a critical skill of the interior designer. For DLA Piper’s Perth office we’ve aligned the new workplace to reflect core tasks undertaken throughout the day.”

Individual office spaces have been cleverly tailored to provide maximum efficiency based on key working relationships, whilst still ensuring privacy. Collaboration spaces such as the library have also been created to enable staff to come together informally.

“Also unique to this project is the bespoke DuPont sculptural reception desk which wraps itself across the entrance foyer, creating two distinct waiting areas for clients,” said Ken. After undergoing strong growth in the region, the firm required a stylish space to enhance efficiency and provide staff with a quality working environment.DLA Piper’s office move and refurbishment reflects in itself, the success of the firm within Western Australia.
