  • Dutch gas and electric provider Stedin has moved into a new office space in Rotterdam. Fokkema Partners Architecten is responsible for the interior design which combines a comfortable workplace with the brand and story of the company.

“Located in the city centre of Rotterdam, the new headquarter of Stedin Netbeheer is designed with a flexible workplace concept in a building with a Greencalc+ A label. Connection, the core business of Stedin, is the central theme for both the interior as well as for the organization of the work process.

The entrance area became a true extension of the branding of Stedin. Even from outside the yellow etched glass wall with the logo made of small lights, is clearly visible. The white reception desk has a milled pattern of interactive glowing connection lines, referring to the network of Stedin. The design of the staircase is derived from power pylons. Organized according to the principles of the New Way of Working (Stedin @ Work) the floor plans are designed with special attention to meeting and interaction.

Even at a detailed level the story of Stedin is made visible. The signage for example, is formed by accumulated dots and lines, like connection nodes in the power network. On the 6th floor a coffee bar, library and a furnished roof terrace are realized as a central meeting point for employees. The restaurant and conference centre on the 18th and 19th floor and have a view over Rotterdam, the area for which Stedin provides the energy.”
