Provinciehuis Friesland County Offices

  • Client Friesland Province,
  • Year 2012
  • Location Leeuwarden, Netherlands,
  • Industry Non-Profit / Government,
  • Oth Architecten has designed the a new government building for Friesland Province located in Leeuwarden.

In the design for the new provincial government building in the center of Leeuwarden, on the site of the existing provincial house, the original eighteenth-century building parts and the nineteenth-century hall states preserved and integrated into the new building. A new building was necessary because the current was too small and did not meet the contemporary requirements.

The office rooms have been replaced by an open working landscape, where anyone looking for a workplace chooses the one that fits the work. Across the working landscapes there are workspaces with higher walls and concentration cells to find more privacy.
