Gartner Innovation Center – Tel Aviv Offices
Studio BA has developed a new office space for the Gartner Innovation Center located in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The new Gartner innovation center in Tel Aviv is a great example for an office design, aimed for a young startup company that has been purchased by traditional big corporate. The office is located at the heart of Tel Aviv inside a unique 100 year old preservation building and offers a work environment that renews the way people work in open space scheme and the way people manage themselves at the office public areas.
The project deals with the structured tension between traditional and innovative, through that tension we chose to show innovation as the main design value. The design style does not try to hide the collision between the old and the new rather than showing it. Parts of the spaces are exposed and show their structure, alongside them there are innovative modern spaces with innovative lightings, materials, 3d printed objects and geometric and triangular design.Our imagination worked overtime to combine the character of a big corporate that works in traditional methods, the young culture of the startup company that was acquired with the innovative approach Studio BA comes with. We thought of how the personal work station will be equally designed and thought off as the public spaces in the office which are used daily for games, eating together and company gatherings and meetup hosting. We see the office design as a great tool for recruiting and preserving employees in the competitive high-tech Israeli industry.
Not just desk and a chair- it’s true that most of time employees spend their time working on their personal chair and desk or at group sessions. We added number of other possibilities which allows freedom and flexibility in comparison with the standard options, such as the personal thinking capsule, the ad hoc meeting cube, the stand-up meeting bicycle table and the brainstorm room with acoustical and intimate furniture.
Food, video games and meetups- the main public area is used as a meetup hosting space combined with cafeteria game councils are. It is used daily for group lunch, company gatherings and hosting outside visitors in different occasions.
Group divisions- a regular open space scheme creates collaboration in one aspect but also creates lack of privacy to the employees, that’s why different height partitions and concealments surrounding every group were decided on. The variation of height and concealments allows different interaction and privacy between employees in the group, between the groups and between the employee and the public corridors used by bypassing employees.
Using 3d printed objects- the fact that Studio BA owns a 3d printer, created an opportunity to reinvent unique “one of” objects and to install them onsite for this specific client. The lack of dependence on vendors when it comes to those object, allows the designer to be as innovative as they aspire with no time and budget constraints. The connection between the designer thoughts and the final product is with no mediators and it’s fast and accessible.
