  • Rottet Studio has designed the new offices of Target‘s PR and Marketing offices located in New York City.

Rottet Studio aimed to create a relaxing work space tailored to Target Corporation’s unique culture, the New York City neighborhood and an environment that was more home than office to the marketing and creative team. The client sought a large, open and flexible space that could be opened up to be one large space or closed off to create two separate, but large work spaces. They required tall ceilings, clean, durable finishes, visually minimal and detailed design intended to serve as a background for product, photography and creation. Despite the loud red logo and barking company mascot, Target asked that the design be somewhat quiet and not visually noisy in order to maximize creativity. The result is a combination of clean, contemporary lines juxtaposed with the old world industrial building’s exposed timbers and reclaimed existing Hardwood floors—it feels natural but fresh and contemporary.

The focal point of the space for guests is the colorful stained wood decorative patterned island with lockers equipped with chargers and USB cables for personal belongings when visiting Target’s space for the day. Located adjacent to the kitchen, the island is the visual terminus at the end of the corridor between the two rooms with large folding glass doors that open into one big entertainment space. The focal point for Target’s employees is the private round room, a comfortable and collaborative conference/meeting room with surrounding built-in book shelves which promotes a homey feeling.
