  • Evoke International Design has developed the new offices of the Dun & Bradstreet Cloud Innovation Center located in Vancouver.

D&B Cloud Innovation Centre occupies 13,000 square feet over two floors of a new office building in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Lead by Vancouver based Mark Cunningham, the D&B Cloud Innovation Centre is a startup in collaboration with Dun and Bradstreet, a global organization. The company makes smart and user-driven cloud based analytics software. Mark’s agenda was to create software that removed the “bloat” while also presenting a beautiful platform.

David Nicolay, Principal at Evoke International Design Inc. worked directly with Mark to incorporate the intersection of ideas that presented themselves when forming our design concept for the space.

As lead design consultant on the project Evoke International Design Inc. was responsible for all interior design and specifications, consultant coordination, permit application and construction documents. The programme for this project consisted of reception, small meeting rooms, large boardroom, private offices, large open workspace, multi-function breakout rooms that include flex spaces for wellness, Rock Band, and private meetings, phone booths and yoga room. The main hub includes the kitchen, games area and a lounge area that doubles as a primary town hall space, including Skype communication technologies.

A strong palette of highly textured hickory wood paneling was used throughout the space to create a contrast from the polished concrete floors. This created an industrial and textural feel within a new building and also brought a definable character to the space. Large sliding pocket doors are located on the corridors separating workspaces from the breakout area to help insulate the workers from noise generated from the lounge areas.

Evoke was also responsible for all of the wall graphics throughout the space, with each installation telling a nuanced story of the brand, culture, personality and location.
