OshKosh B’gosh Offices – New York City
STUDIOS Architecture has designed a new office for children’s apparel company OshKosh B’gosh located in New York City, New York.
OshKosh B’Gosh was founded in 1895 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, as a manufacturer of hickory-striped denim overalls for railroad workers and farmers. The decision to start creating pint-sized versions for the children of these customers transformed OshKosh into one of America’s most beloved clothing brands.
For OshKosh’s New York headquarters on Fifth Avenue, STUDIOS designed a fully-integrated creative office environment that includes spaces for designing, collaboration, and plenty of accessible storage for clothing samples. In addition to work areas, the design incorporates private offices for executives and staff visiting from other locations; a large, multi-purpose space for fashion shows, photo shoots, and allhands meetings; and a state-of-the-art conference room overlooking Fifth Avenue.
The office design further reinforces the robust OshKosh brand with walls of reclaimed wood (all from a single barn in Pennsylvania) and pieces of Americana from the early 20th century. Evidence of the brand’s storied history is displayed throughout in framed photos, advertisements, and early examples of OshKosh clothing.
