The Twin Peaks Creativity and Effectiveness define Ogilvy’s approach to producing great work. So for its new office in Washington, DC, the space needed to inspire innovation and promote collaboration, but also meet the business needs of an agency that serves national brands, associations, organizations and Federal agencies.

HOK’s Washington, DC team worked closely with Ogilvy’s Director of Design & Construction Cynthia Lindberg, President Robert Mathias, Facilities Manager Jeighdeane King & IT Director Johnny Yang, to design a space that would be as functional as it would be beautiful. The solution is a contemporary open floor plan with workspaces that cater as much to the creative millennial as it does the Hill veteran, and where the Global Chairman’s desk sits across from a junior digital strategist.

The 23,000 square foot space features 18 conference rooms fully equipped with AV, 14 phone booth rooms, two video editing suites, and several open collaboration areas around the office. Each space is named for a DC landmark, eatery or institution corresponding to its “neighborhood” location within the office. Elevator doors tagged with Ogilvy’s signature logo open to the lobby, where a custom mural of founder David Ogilvy poses the challenge, “Aim for the Remarkable.” Recent creative work samples hang around every corner and are periodically refreshed to celebrate the latest campaigns.

Ogilvy Washington’s offices now reflect its true identity as a leading integrated communications and creative agency.
