  • Area Sq has designed a new office and meeting space for the recently opened second location of The Clubhouse, a popular business club located in London.

Designed to build on the success of The Clubhouse at 11-14 Grafton Street, the new 6,000 sq ft space at 50 Grosvenor Hill has a contemporary feel, set within a brand new building originally designed for open-plan workspace. A new coffered ceiling incorporates recessed directional lighting to provide members with an immediate sense of arrival and sets the smart, creative tone for the rest of the club.

A sense of openness and connectivity between the ground and lower ground floors has been created by Area Sq to give a sense of one space; this includes the installation of a bespoke staircase to link the two floors. A central coffee area has been incorporated into the club, where elegant timber fin details have been used to subtly divide the space and provide a sense of privacy within the lounge spaces.

Designed to provide flexibility for members and a luxurious, professional space in which to work, meet and host events, Area Sq has created open-plan lounge spaces, informal flexible meeting areas, a range of high-specification meeting rooms and boardrooms, hot desks, touchdown spaces and an events space for up to 150 people. To capture the different mood of each space, Area Sq has used a variety of contemporary lighting products, wall coverings and striking signature furniture pieces which were provided by their sister company Sketch Studios.

The Clubhouse attracts members from a broad range of industries and sectors, across London, the UK and overseas. Whilst catering to the growing market of start-ups and early-stage businesses that operate with no permanent office, The Clubhouse also attracts many larger, established businesses that are looking for a more flexible working or meeting space in the heart of London, in addition to their main premises.
