  • DZAP has developed the new headquarters offices of engineering firm Fluor located in Hoofddorp, Netherlands.

Fluor is one of the world’s leading publicly traded engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, and project management company. For their Dutch headquarters a complete new office building has been built in Hoofddorp, near Schiphol Airport. DZAP has been involved since the start of the project in 2011. First with the selection of the architect and later on for the entire interior design and project management. The wellbeing of the employees and sustainability were main priorities during the design and realization phase. Fluor is pleased the building is rewarded with a BREEAM certificate of ‘Excellent’.

The center of the building is a place where a lot of elements come together. It is a place to welcome visitors, presenting the identity of Fluor, to work, to meet colleagues, to get information, not an office environment, part of the Netherlands, traffic route. It is a dynamic environment with a lot of movement. As a starting point we have devised a park experience surrounded by offices. Like central park in New York.

To create a nice environment we keep the basic materials sober and close to building materials. As FLUOR is a building company. We have chosen for Wood Steel and concert.

The shape the atrium consists of three elements walls, floor and interior. The “walls” of the atrium are made of wood. For the floor of the atrium, we have chosen steel. All floors within the atrium façade is this material. The interior elements are made of concrete.
