My overall goal was give Yipit employees plenty of workspace options, so they weren’t always limited to their personal desk area. A few of the ways I accomplished this was with beautiful white oak booths, stadium seating with custom cushions, and phone rooms with flip-down desks.

The floating planters really helped define different areas within the open office. It took a few iterations before we got them just right, but it was worth it. Fun fact: we ended up using commercial-grade cement in the ceilings – you could swing across the room on those planters, and I doubt they’d fall!

The three largest conference rooms were truly a labor of love. Artist Billy Ruiz, my go-to guy, came up with the idea to use abstract images to illustrate terms (like “correlated subquery”) given to us by members of the Yipit team. We ended up installing 60 pieces of artwork all on our own – which took six hours – but everyone loved the results.

Lastly, the space features six custom Dani Lounges, which is more than I’ve used in any one space. The beauty of this chair is, when you have that many together, they actually create a room in and of themselves.
