  • Margulies Perruzzi Architects has designed a new U.S. headquarters for Cimpress and its well-known brand Vistaprint, a global supplier of customized marketing products and services to micro businesses and consumers.

Using a collaborative design process for this build-to-suit project, MPA and Cimpress created an energetic workplace that inspires creativity, encourages employee empowerment, and promotes Cimpress’ culture of change.

Because Cimpress is focused on innovative product development, the company was keen to evaluate multiple workplace concepts (including “agile” for some groups). After testing several mock-up designs, Cimpress adopted an open, flexible, organic, non-hierarchical approach across the entire facility. Informed by Cimpress’ European workstyle, the design provides a flexible workspace with plenty of public areas for collaboration and impromptu meetings.

A library was designed to accommodate silent work space for team members, outside of the collaborative environment. To address the acoustical challenges of the open office, extra measures were taken to ensure acoustical privacy and sound isolation in videoconference and huddle rooms.

All workstations in this LEED Platinum office are enabled with electric height adjustable work surfaces to provide ergonomic responsiveness for everyone. Kitchenettes on each floor feature whiteboard space for flexible work options.
