L’Oréal Offices – Montreal
Métaphore Design designed a collaborative space with hands-on capabilities for the L’Oréal offices in Montreal, Canada.
L’Oréal Canada is a subsidiary of the L’Oréal Group, the world’s leading beauty company managing 40 iconic beauty brands.
Their mission is to create beauty that has a meaningful impact on its employees, on consumers and on the planet.
The office covers 36,590 square feet and is adjacent to the distribution center in Ville Saint-Laurent. The location and the shape of the building offer a panoramic view with plenty of greenery and natural light.
Métaphore Design’s objective was to keep the space in line with L’Oréal’s corporate image: young, dynamic and versatile. Developed in the midst of a pandemic, the project had to evolve in order to accommodate new challenges such as the versatile use of space.
The space was designed to offer a diversity of workspaces that could be used in a variety of settings, combining open, semi-open and closed spaces to allow for collaboration, meetings and moments of concentration.
The large open areas are mainly located at the perimeter in order to maximize access to natural light. Collaboration zones punctuate the space to facilitate accessibility and encourage communication between users.
The project’s beauty is translated through the materiality, the inclusion of biophilia and the soft color palette; a warm and luminous atmosphere that contributes to the well-being of the user and reminds us of the L’Oréal identity.
