Bradley Offices – Nashville
Gensler’s Bradley offices in Nashville redefine the workplace experience through an amenity-rich environment, promoting collaboration and transparency while drawing inspiration from the city’s natural beauty.
Relocating to a first-generation space opened the door for Bradley to reinvent its Nashville workplace experience. The prestigious law firm envisioned an amenity-rich atmosphere with hospitality touches to entice employees’ post-pandemic return to the office.
Steeped in tradition, the firm followed a three-size office model with every employee assigned an office. Angled exterior mullions along the building’s perimeter created unique geometries, adding to the planning complexity. A shift to demountable glass fronts and doors creates transparency and a sense of openness.
Recognizing not all work happens in closed offices, progressive work and collaboration settings were introduced. Linked by an interconnecting stair, each of the three-and-a-half floors has multiple touchpoints encouraging quick meetings, one-on-ones, and impromptu collaboration.
A hospitality-focused central café and work lounge bathed in natural light is designed as a respite moment bringing employees and clients together. A decorative partition separates upscale lounge seating, digital artwork, and plants/greenery from a traditional dining setting. Smaller pantry/coffee bars are located on each floor for quick breaks.
The stunning reception and client-facing conference center takes advantage of the top floor’s soaring ceilings and full-height windows. The pre-function area and seamless glass box conference rooms overlook Nashville’s amazing views. A variety of room sizes and upgraded technology accommodate different meeting needs. The large conference room’s operable partition expands the space, supported by a dedicated catering kitchen for hosting client events.
The aesthetic is a dramatic shift from the 1990s dark woods and heavy furniture. Nashville’s natural surroundings inspired a refined palette of natural textures, limestone, wood, patinaed metal, and large aggregate terrazzo with a fossilized appearance. Throughout the design process, the team created augmented reality renderings using smartphone QR codes enabling the client to visualize the design and expediting their decision-making.
