Viridian Financial Group Offices – Melbourne
Ōbḻììk designed the Viridian Financial Group offices in Melbourne to seamlessly merge client-facing areas with practical workspaces, celebrating local context while prioritizing sustainability and employee well-being.
Ōbḻììk delivered the Melbourne head office for Viridian Financial Group, located on Level 16 of 55 Collins Street and completed in January 2026. Positioned at the top end of Collins Street, the workplace benefits from expansive views across the Melbourne CBD and now serves as Viridian’s primary Victorian base of operations.
Engaged as Principal Design Consultant, Ōbḻììk led the architectural design and design management for the project, coordinating engineering and compliance consultants and acting as Superintendent throughout construction delivery. The project was undertaken within a stringent budget and a fixed relocation programme, requiring careful coordination to align design outcomes, procurement, and delivery with Viridian’s move-in schedule.
The workplace has been thoughtfully designed to balance client-facing spaces with functional back-of-house areas as briefed by the client. A welcoming reception sets the tone on arrival, leading to a series of intimate meeting rooms and a boardroom positioned to capture sweeping corner vistas across the city. The neutral palette Supporting spaces include additional meeting rooms, quiet rooms, open-plan work areas, and a generous breakout zone that encourages informal connection and day-to-day collaboration.
A strong sense of place is embedded throughout the interior. Artwork retained from Viridian’s previous workplace has been carefully reintegrated to celebrate prominent Melbourne buildings and local landmarks. At the same time, meeting rooms are named after nearby streets to reinforce a connection to the surrounding urban context.
A continuous run of modular acoustic booths has been integrated into the plan, providing flexible spaces for focused work, quiet interaction, and private calls. These booths were selected for their material efficiency and high proportion of recycled and biodegradable content.
Sustainability considerations informed key decisions across the project. Existing furniture was reused where possible, with upcycled solutions incorporated to reduce waste and manage cost. Finishes and furnishings were selected for durability and longevity, supporting a practical, low-impact outcome aligned with the project brief.
The completed workplace presents a calm, considered interior that aligns with Viridian’s broader office portfolio, balancing warmth and professionalism while delivering a functional, contemporary environment tailored to both client engagement and staff well-being.
