Kennedy & Violich Architecture

Founded in 1990, Kennedy & Violich Architecture is an interdisciplinary design firm offering clients full-service professional services in architectural design, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration. Led by Design Principal Sheila Kennedy, FAIA and Managing Principal Frano Violich, FAIA. KVA is a limited S-Corp organization, a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), and a registered Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) certification.

Together with its material-research unit Matx, KVA designs architecture, urbanism, and new infrastructure for emerging public needs. The KVA Matx portfolio of projects is unified by a singular conceptual approach. Each project at KVA Matx explores relationships between design, cotemporary technology and peoples’ daily activities. Our goal in design is to create works of architecture that reflect and express our clients’ programs, culture and mission and provide context to reflect on the important conditions of our times. KVA is a nationally recognized thought leader on the emerging interface between the built environment and climate, the innovative use of low-carbon materials, and the “hands-on” process of material craft, which are transforming professional practice.
