COR releases Jalis Lounge
Variety derived from one basic shape. The folded seat cushion has served the Stuttgart designers Jehs+Laub as a source of inspiration for the Jalis collection since 2010. Relaxed communication on floating cushions, that is their motto. Now the sofa and chair family has been extended to include a Lounge easy chair. With visually accentuated contours and firm upholstery, it looks both elegant and cosy. “We always follow an idea and are faithful to it for a long time, developing it further. For us, the product has to tell a story,” Jehs+Laub comment on the new addition to the Jalis family.
Dynamically young in its design language, the Jalis Lounge easy chair is the modern variation of a recliner. In the version with the swivel plate base, it has an invisibly integrated tilt mechanism that gently tips the seat shell backwards. Even the release button is concealed in the armrest and revealed by just one visual cue – a small tone-on-tone embroidered circle. A further embroidered detail strikingly emphasises the V-shape of the back upholstery. Support and comfort are guaranteed by the headrest, which can be tilted by 20 degrees. All in all, a seemingly light, sculptural design.
