PDM International’s New Sydney Offices
Interior Design Consultancy PDM International is an Interior Design Consultancy operating in ten countries throughout Asia Pacific. The company’s Sydney office recently found a new home in a heritage building in an area of the city known as The Rocks.
“By moving into this unique space it has enable us to showcase our creativity and take advantage of the great amenities and proximity to our clients. This end of Kent Street is the perfect medium for us and works well, as it is a convenient position within the city to service our clients but also in a creative energy area. This is set to be the perfect location to continue with the great work for our various multi-national clients.
PDM presents an office populated with all the comforts of home but captures inspiration from the industrial history as a reflection on its position in the city suburb of Millers Point. The team have created an eclectic space using salvaged timber, huge murals from yesteryear in meeting rooms, a WW2 workbench and delicate steel glazed windows for meeting room fronts. They have also used vintage lighting hanging over plant lined workstations along with other reclaimed items contrasted with elements of rich copper, luxury velvet and hints of vintage glamour.
“We all spend so much time in the office nowadays so our space not only had to be a reflection on our core business but also craft an environment that our staff enjoyed. When developing the concept there was an underlying importance of acknowledging the heritage of the area yet harnessing the creativity and uniqueness of the space that has plenty of natural light, great views over the harbour and fresh air…”
