The design concept centers around the idea of while providing a creative and innovative environment (Design Thinking Process) and have all catch the feeling of Istanbul while keeping the expression of SAP’s spirit and values.

In Innovation Center Turkey, it is not quite different than usual workplaces and collaborative spaces, but, it is aimed to add a localized, cultural and social aspects by a conceptual sections of overall space which is referred as  “the square”featuring a large collaboration/communication area with a theme of a typical square of districts in Istanbul, the space is supported by a kitchenette. The space offers various socializing opportunities as well as it can easily turn into a collaboration area by its flexible IT infrastructure. “the lane”— a line of various furnitures which offer collaboration /communication in an informal format within a theme of the small lanes in the varying districts of Istanbul. Visitors and users are amazed by the artistic silhouettes of Istanbul made from rebars.

And, the QRs on “the lane” are interpretation of small niche-spaces which serve for concentrated work and are named by landmark green parks of Istanbul; Gezi, Bebek, Maçka, Moda, Yıldız. There are four workspaces for the developers which are named similar as the authentic districts in Istanbul such as, Beyoğlu, Kadıköy, Balat, Karaköy. It is intended to provide a group of spaces which offer alternative forms of collaboration and communication.

All of the leased space is designed as a blank canvas that gives the possibility to the users to (re)organize their strategies and approach and the methods each and everyday according to their needs from scratch by the help of the flexible infrastructure and the mobility of the furniture . The materials chosen are widely recyclable and locally procurred.

SAP’s demand for a unique workplace to attract local talents and the urgency of this, the project delivered within an accelerated timeframe.
