Toyota – Auckland Offices
Stack has developed a new office interior design for Toyota located in Auckland, New Zealand.
Toyota wanted to create a bold and striking image for their Auckland office at the Millennium Centre in Great South Road and approached Stack to deliver on their aspirations. Having completed the original fitout back in 2002, Stack were delighted to be involved once more and the final result was a workplace that not only met the brief but also totally embraced the thrill of the Toyota brand and their products.
Toyota New Zealand and Toyota Financial Services (TFS) now find themselves sharing a workplace over 2 floors that is widely acknowledged as a fun and exciting environment for their staff to work in. The spaces are open and flexible with a variety of transforming and connected meeting spaces that act as both breakout and team working areas. The common reception is able to comfortably host a variety of group events, whilst the respective business entities still retain their individual identities and areas within the overall Toyota brand.
Throughout the workplace Stack’s design allowed for the distinct white and red palette that marks Toyota’s establishments universally to be acknowledged. However as Lead Designer Jesse James Smith noted “We saw an opportunity to inject some local flavour into the design with a some subtle use of black throughout much of the new interior. “The ‘kiwi’ affinity to the colour can transcend from sport to the business world quite easily” added Smith
Automotive inspiration is linked to the extensive use of high-gloss finishes and glass, light reflecting even more abundantly from the black surfaces to ensure the effect is light and airy. The move to the open style environment was facilitated further by the inclusion of a new open central stairway that enhanced the connectivity between the floors – linking the workspaces to the bright industrial themed café hub that acts as the breathing heart of the space.”
Overall the project delivered a make-over that delighted both client and design team and delivered a workplace now enjoyed by both visitors and staff alike.
