BuildingLink – New York City Offices
Design Republic has created a new office space for property management software company BuildingLink located in New York City.
They say the culture and personality of a company is often drawn from the character of its founder. For BuildingLink, this means the transparency, modesty, and positivity of CEO Jerry Kestenbaum.
But as architectural designers, we know that personality and culture are also shaped by their surroundings – and vice versa. BuildingLink’s new office was a stark blank slate of industrial design.
We sought a symbiotic relationship between the company and the walls around it. The rawness of the existing space is juxtaposed nicely with the lofty, modern textures of the interior design. Feng Shui in its deliberateness, the office is striking without packing a punch.
Cast-iron columns still stand where we found them; the high ceiling has been left unfinished. In true Design Republic fashion, art and science came together in the mechanical systems – meticulously laid out to support the beautiful structure of the space rather than disrupt it.
Informed by the company’s good energy, we created a partnership between structure and style that would amplify it in the best way possible.
