We exist to build great things…and who we build is just as important as what we build. Since its founding in July 1990, DPR Construction (named for Doug, Peter, and Ron’s collective monogram) has encouraged its workers to take the lead.

Our culture of discipline reflects our entrepreneurial spirit and characterizes every part of our business. When people have the discipline to do what needs to be done within agreed upon frameworks—and can trust that everyone on the team will do the same—it creates an exciting and empowered work environment. DPR’s Dallas office reflects this unique entrepreneurial spirit with an open office environment that promotes collaboration and engagement between employees. There are no individual offices, and people are purposely not grouped by department to encourage interaction across groups. Our office also features an onsite bar where employees congregate to celebrate achievements like winning or completing projects, to mingle with customers, or to unwind during happy hour. A local artist helped us design our wood walls, which are from a turn-of-the-century house that was demolished in Oak Cliff.

Now celebrating its 25th year, our company has helped build projects ranging from Facebook’s data centers to R&D labs to major corporate offices. Last year the company’s revenues hit a record $2.6 billion. DPR is one of the Coolest Workspaces because we have created an environment where people are empowered to make decisions, to make a difference with their ideas and hard work, to find solutions and challenge the traditional way of doing things.
