Environmental Resources Management Offices – Houston
STG Design has created the new design of global consulting firm Environmental Resources Management located in Houston, Texas.
Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a leading global provider of environmental, health, safety, risk, social consulting services and sustainability related services, engaged STG Design to relocate their Houston office. ERM challenged the firm to create an economical space that was professional, inviting, functional and efficient. The ultimate goal for the new space was to consolidate operations into a modern, open work environment that represents the company’s environmental and sustainability services.
The final design features a custom reception desk in ERM’s lobby and clear glass panels leading to the main conference room, which capitalizes on the downtown Houston views. Reclaimed and recycled finishes are used throughout, including green certified-furniture. To maximize on natural lighting for energy efficiency and increased productivity, all workstations, break rooms and open meeting areas are placed along the perimeter next to the glass windows. Since most of ERM’s engineers work in the field, hoteling workstations are provided to reduce the amount of office resources required. Ceilings were opened to create a high volume environment and colorful panels of glass artwork are placed throughout to serve as dividers without blocking daylight. This office space is designed for ERM to harness the enthusiasm and expertise of their staff to support environmental initiatives around the world.
