The Irvine Company’s 225 Broadway ReadyNow Offices
The Irvine Company provides ReadyNow office spaces in a variety of locations around the United States. Their 225 Broadway location was designed by Gensler, who is located in the same building.
Notes from the designer:
“Gensler San Diego has been responding to the region’s continuously evolving office market by pushing the progressive officing ideas of open desking and collaborative space, while still balancing the human need for focus and privacy. This approximately 5000 square foot space continues the experimentation in how to achieve an ideal balance of focus/collaboration, public/private, interactive/separation, and work/lifestyle.
The suite features three interior offices overlooking the open plan and the building’s full height glazing beyond. The reception features adjacent conferencing and touchdown areas for visiting clients. Concrete floors and open ceilings shed the notion that office buildings don’t promote creativity. The open break and lounge area inspire mobile work and chance encounters.
Many in San Diego’s tech community have embraced these concepts and the idea of working in a “Class A” building. These spec suites offer a solution for well designed space that may not otherwise have been economically achievable for a start-up. Paraphrasing one tenant’s statement- The space allows us to project a visual legitimacy to our investors and clients.”
