Trip.com Offices – Edinburgh
HKSD designed the offices for travel service website Trip.com, located in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Jordan McCaffery of HKSD and Scotwood Interiors have collaborated to design the Trip.com offices in Edinburgh. Bureau provided furniture consultancy, procurement and installation services for Trip.com’s flagship UK office. The revolutionary design plays a crucial role in helping Trip.com to attract and retain the best talent as well as create a comfortable and warm environment for employees.
The industrial style office underwent a three month transformation and successfully breaks the mould of typical call centre environments. From taxidermy that lines the training room walls to galactic themed meeting rooms and playful wallpaper, a fun and exciting atmosphere has been created that achieves the desired people-centric office space.
A biophilic design approach was also adopted throughout the project. In a unique twist, overhead planting features throughout to create an engaging environment that is designed to reduce stress-related illness and improve employee well-being.
Trip.com utilized Bureau’s extensive furniture knowledge and industry experience to select a range of furniture pieces that best interpreted the remarkable design of the office space. Desking solutions with ply-edge details and graphite tops were introduced as well as black leather lounge chairs to complement to the industrial look. The lactation and wellness room is also equipped with comfortable soft seating to support employees moving back into work after maternity leave.
