Aon Offices – New York City
The neighborhood concept workplace of Aon in New York City provides multiple avenues for employees of the global insurance firm to engage and collaborate with one another.
Design Republic has realized the offices of the leading global insurance firm, Aon, located in New York City, New York.
They employ 50,000 professionals in 120 countries empowering results for clients by using proprietary data and analytics to deliver insights that reduce volatility and improve performance. In 2016, Aon embarked on a relocation and downsizing project that included a reduction from 320,000 square feet at 199 Water Street to a new 240,000 square flagship office at 1 Liberty Plaza. The project had a far reaching scope which included a complete re-envisioning of their workplace, a reduction of over 300 private offices to 70 private offices that required an intense workplace strategy and communications outreach strategy to support the change management challenges. Design Republic was charged to guide Aon through this workplace transformation and included high level workplace conversations with senior executives, select steering committee and a cross section of employees who formed the employee council. One of the design achievements of the project was an integrated approach to a neighborhood concept that encouraged employee engagement and collaboration by strategically relocating private offices inboard of the window line.
The project also included a client / employee arrival lounge that features a fire place, barista area and business lounge flanked by state of the art conference rooms equipped with state of the art AV technologies.
