Rösler Oberflächentechnik Offices – Untermerzbach
MPS ARCHONIC was tasked with designing a future-oriented and expressive concept for a 6,000 square meter office space in Germany, focusing on improving communication and networking through a mix of open areas and closed rooms.
The name Rösler stands for the highest quality in the manufacture of machines and plant systems in the field of surface technology. Employees and customers should also be able to recognize this claim at first glance when entering the office space. As part of a comprehensive refurbishment of the three existing buildings, MPS ARCHONIC was commissioned to develop a future-oriented concept and an expressive design for the total of around 6,000 square meters.
With the aim of improving internal communication, creating new interfaces and strengthening networking within the company a detailed analysis of the existing structures was carried out before planning began. With the help of the results the distribution of departments across the individual buildings and floors could be optimized and the required space and zones determined.
With a balanced mix of open work areas and closed rooms, the new multispace concept offers both places for communication and focus work. In the central zone, there are self-sufficient room modules, high tables and alcoves that allow employees to communicate quickly and spontaneously. As a central design element each floor has an open work café, whose round shape symbolizes rotation – a central force in the company’s field of activity. Ring luminaires in the central zone and offset semi-circular luminaires at the curve of the work café underline this motif. In terms of networking, the work café serves as a central meeting point and promotes social exchange and spontaneous communication. “Find your own Orange” as the company motto – The high level of identification with the corporate color orange should also be noticeable in the interior. In combination with wood, the orange lends the the restrained basic mood the necessary liveliness and warmth.
