Swinerton Builders has redefined its Spokane presence with a bold move to the Morris Center for Innovation in downtown. In collaboration with local design firm BCRA, the new office was strategically envisioned to fuel growth, elevate the employee experience, and bring Swinerton’s core values to life. More than just a workplace, the space is a showcase of innovation and craftsmanship—a dynamic hub that fosters collaboration, sparks creativity, and proudly reflects Swinerton’s leadership in building exceptional environments.
The office layout was carefully organized to optimize acoustic and visual privacy while preserving opportunities for collaboration and future adaptability. Desks are arranged to foster focused work without isolating team members, and the space includes a range of collaboration zones for varying group sizes and work styles. Touchdown areas away from desks support heads-down work, while community and meeting spaces promote team bonding and engagement.
Material choices and spatial composition reflect Swinerton’s identity, commitment to craftsmanship, and strike a balance between warmth, openness, and privacy. Design features include an expansive cross-laminated timber (CLT) beam that extends over the main conference room, a fully operable glass partition connecting the training room to the adjacent flexible community space, and glass office fronts with decorative mullions. Wallcoverings and experiential graphics subtly enhance the company’s culture, creating a welcoming and functional environment.
The completed space maximizes operational functionality, empowers employees to perform at their best, and creates opportunities for spontaneous collaboration. It also provides an impressive setting for hosting clients and consultant partners, reinforcing Swinerton’s brand and commitment to excellence.
