  • The new Crit Ventures office in Yeoksam-dong marks a significant transition from its previous location in Samseong-dong, not only in scale but also in spatial strategy. The expanded site included existing private offices and a pantry, offering both functional advantages and fixed constraints that shaped the overall design approach.

Despite the relatively compact floor area, the layout preserves a high number of private offices while successfully securing distinct zones for client meetings, internal discussions, and focused work. Spatial boundaries were carefully defined to ensure that staff and visitor areas coexist without visual or physical congestion.

To address the need for privacy without compromising openness, switchable smart glass was applied to the large conference room. This allows the space to adapt seamlessly between transparent and opaque settings. The room’s central placement was softened with curved forms, minimizing visual weight and introducing a more fluid, approachable atmosphere.

The material palette was anchored by mid-tone woods and punctuated with Crit Ventures’ signature red, creating a visual identity that is both grounded and energetic. The use of glass and open sightlines near the entrance prevents the space from feeling enclosed, encouraging a welcoming first impression.

An art collection curated by the client further elevates the space, enhancing the sense of cultural depth and refinement. Overall, the design avoids the rigidity often associated with investment firms, instead delivering a workplace that feels open, composed, and human-centered.
