South Bow Offices – Calgary
Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning designed the South Bow offices in Calgary as a collaborative, human-centered workplace that fosters innovation and community, bridging contemporary comfort with mid-century modern aesthetics.
Designed for South Bow, a newly established critical energy infrastructure company emerging from its former corporate parent, the project marks a milestone in the company’s journey towards independence. With no pre-existing brand standards or culture, the workplace became the foundation for South Bow’s evolving identity — a space to foster innovation, collaboration, and belonging.
Spanning four floors of Calgary’s Manulife Tower, the project was completed on a fast-tracked eight-month schedule from award to occupancy through close collaboration between Kasian, South Bow’s internal team, and construction managers Govan Brown. The resulting environment is warm, refined, and human-centred, balancing hospitality influences with a mid century modern sensibility.
The design integrates curved glazed walls, natural wood finishes, and dual-tone concrete flooring that echo the tower’s architecture while softening its geometry. Workspaces are organized into neighbourhoods to accommodate diverse work styles, anchored by a bright central gathering hub that serves as the social and creative heart of the office. Dedicated wellness and prayer rooms further demonstrate the project’s inclusive, people- focused approach.
