  • Global pharmaceutical company Sanofi partnered with Gensler to create a workplace employees genuinely want to return to—one that elevates daily experiences, supports hybrid work, and strengthens collaboration, wellbeing, and engagement. At 260,000 square feet, Sanofi M Station serves as a signature site within the company’s global real estate portfolio, translating its workplace strategy into a highly human-centric environment.

The project was guided by three core goals: creating a flexible setting that can evolve with changing workstyles, encouraging a cultural shift toward in-person collaboration, and establishing an active, visible presence in downtown Morristown. The resulting design emphasizes connection, choice, and wellbeing, with spaces that support focused work, social interaction, and moments of restoration throughout the day.

Drawing inspiration from science and nature, the interiors create a multisensory environment. Soft, layered materials evoke the warmth and ease of a well-appointed living room, while tonal accents and bold floral patterns infuse energy and vitality. Ambient music and a signature scent are diffused across key areas, stimulating the senses and enhancing the overall experience. Abundant daylight, natural materials, and locally commissioned art—including large-scale murals and more than 100 original works—foster discovery and a sense of belonging.

A diverse range of work settings empowers individuals and teams to choose how and where they work best, from home-inspired meeting spaces and open collaboration zones to quiet focus areas for individual work. An expansive rooftop terrace—the largest in New Jersey—features gardens, collaborative zones, and places to recharge, reinforcing a “work anywhere” ethos.

Amenities go beyond the expected. Hospitality ambassadors provide personalized, concierge-style support, helping employees navigate the building, activate amenities, and engage fully with the workplace. Their presence ensures the space feels intuitive, welcoming, and consistently activated. Another defining feature is The Morris Proper, a ground-floor, public-facing restaurant that blurs the boundary between work and life while strengthening Sanofi’s connection to the surrounding community.

Located in the heart of Morristown’s walkable, transit-rich district, the site supports sustainable commuting and offers immediate access to local amenities and green space. By integrating flexibility, hospitality, and intentional design, Sanofi M Station sets a new benchmark for workplace experience—positioning the office as a destination rather than an obligation.
