hell und freundlich architektur innenarchitektur transformed a historic cable storage hall in Cologne into the vibrant Banijay Media offices, seamlessly blending industrial charm with modern design for creative collaboration.
The office project for Banijay, a renowned group of television production companies, covers 1,500 square meters in Cologne-Mülheim and is located in a former cable storage hall. The repurposing of this space lends the project a unique charm, combining historical elements with modern design.
The office accommodates up to 75 employees and has been designed to reflect the creative and dynamic nature of the media industry. A standout feature is the auditorium, which serves as a multifunctional space for presentations, workshops, and team meetings. The flex space supports both creative collaboration and focused work.
The design concept draws on the open structure of the old hall, using striking color blocking to define different areas. Bold colors highlight functional zones and create an inspiring work atmosphere. Open spaces encourage interaction and teamwork.
In contrast, quieter offices are finished in muted tones, offering a calm and focused environment for undisturbed work. The combination of industrial heritage and modern, color- differentiated work areas creates a balance between authenticity and functionality.
