Superfruit Offices – Brussels
het Kantoor van Morgen reimagined the Superfruit offices in Brussels, enhancing brand identity through smart design, abundant daylight, and elegant materials that elevate the workspace while showcasing the fruit on sale.
Brand-Enhancing Office Spaces
Superfruit grew in two generations from modest market vendors to an international reference for wholesalers, market vendors, and suppliers for hospitality and commercial kitchen businesses. Besides their large cold storage facilities at the European Center for Fruits and Vegetables (ECFV) in Brussels, they work and sell from their headquarters in Roeselare.
The office and auction space in Brussels were due for a smart redesign with a look that further conveys the brand values. We assisted the team from workplace advice to implementation.
The Challenge
The long, narrow shape of the office presented a challenging starting point for the design. We stripped everything down to the concrete structure and implemented smart interventions to bring additional daylight into the office spaces. The high ceilings also allowed us to play with the space. To accentuate this, we used floor-to-ceiling exterior joinery and custom furniture. We also furnished the meeting room with a view of the cold storage facilities and a lunch area with changing rooms for the workers. In the shop section, special attention was given to techniques and lighting that spotlight the fruit for sale.
Look & feel
The use of materials such as walnut and an accent color creates a warm and elegant character. Greenery was also integrated, which in some spaces was not straightforward due to the constant temperature and limited daylight. In those cases, we worked with a moss wall in combination with striking illuminated signage.
