Artazan Property Group Offices – Sydney
Black Sheep has developed the new offices of Artazan Property Group located in Sydney, Australia.
It was made clear very early on in the briefing process that APG saw some benefits of moving to an Agile workplace and this decision helped form the planning strategy for the new tenancy. A shift to a more compact, bench style workstation allowed us to maximize numbers across the floor plate and accommodate projected growth. Staff members typically work from laptops that enables them to take advantage of the various work modes offered within the design. Two meeting rooms flank the small waiting area with a third, more informal space adjacent to it. A large communal bench is located in the café that facilitates impromptu team meetings and a banquette has been installed along the façade where staff can enjoy access to natural light and city views. A number of sit-stand workstations were also included with a bank of lockers installed to enable a clean desk policy.
The APG brand relied on a dominant use of red, something which staff were keen to down play in their new environment. As a result finishes are limited with a minimal approach adopted to color and texture. Given the nature of the business we felt the new fit out was an opportunity to celebrate the construction industry and a number of architectural motifs were employed to do this. A feature wall reminiscent of concrete panels lines the main entry and leads the eye into the meeting rooms whilst a timber form work privacy screen separates the workplace from the waiting area. Joinery elements are simple with crisp white carcasses set against plywood bench tops and a custom city scape graphic film is another nod to APG’s market.
