Harris County Houston Sports Authority Headquarters – Houston
Perkins+Will designed the headquarters of Harris County Houston Sports Authority, located in Houston, Texas.
Harris County Houston Sports Authority’s new headquarters sits four stories above downtown Houston, overlooking Minute Maid Park.
Designed by Texas-based interior architecture firm Perkins+Will, the tech-forward office is anchored by a 7-by-11-foot audio visual display, featuring an integrated system of televisions that constantly stream sports-related content. The media wall provides an interactive, high-energy, brand-relevant focal point within the reception area by putting the brand on display and highlighting the work they do.
Red and blue accent pieces and furnishings were incorporated throughout as a nod to the organization’s brand and sports memorabilia on display in the entry. A warm wood wrap adorns the wall and ceiling to balance the bold color pallette and maintain an active yet clean aesthetic. Although individual workstations were a priority, Perkins+Will also crafted various communal areas, including the break room, which looks onto Minute Maid park. Most importantly, the open plan concept allows HCHSA to become a more cohesive agency with a stronger sense of connectedness.
Located inside the Partnership Tower—a conglomerate of organizations all geared towards the improvement of Houston’s vibrant culture and economy—Perkins+Will provided a dynamic office space that expertly balances the traditional preferences of the HCHSA team with architectural details that support and enhance the brand. The result was a colorful, streamlined and fluid working environment, designed for spontaneous collaboration and idea generation.
