It breaks down the classic barriers of the workplace, representing the most technologically space dedicated to the innovation for companies. It’s about PwC’s Experience Center opening in Rome and the biggest center in Europe.

It was arduous to understand, at first, what the team of young talents did: 3D printers, robotics, artificial intelligence applied to innovative systems for the development of business processes. Is it too much for an architecture studio? Probably, but it is exactly the ideal field for Il Prisma’s team of strategists.

Development and technological innovation are changing our way to live and especially work. Companies are facing new challenges to manage, and we know well this trend. Applying our methodology, “Redefine Your Habits”, we immediately found great affinity with the process developed by PwC for its clients: observation, analysis and research, participatory design and solution, by involving the clients in an unprecedented experience to discover problems together. The step after consists in doing technological prototypes supported by smart solutions.

Flexible spaces support all the activities organized for (and with) the clients. From the Sponsor Area created for Google, to the Auditorium. Hybrid areas with writable walls like the Sandbox, a zone equipped with a device wall, formed by a monitor suitable for many devices (tablet, smartphone) and modular tables to change the space based on different needs. Sandbox was conceived to host meetings, workshops, trainings with clients and users.

The Testing Lab is the place where to test the prototypes on the clients, who are informed to be observed from the Observatory Room, the adjacent area, provided with an unidirectional and mirrored dividing wall to observe with discretion what happen.

The new technologies are developed inside the Tech Lab equipped with 3D laser printer, a next-gen plotter, a plastic recycle machine and tools to solder different materials. This area is the technological heart of the centre.

The innovative place has been designed to support these processes and reflects a forward-looking company even through the smart working application: unallocated workstations allow to work everywhere supported by adaptable tools, choosing to stay in the Work Area or in the Work Café, the welcoming area, which becomes multifunctional, useful for informal meeting, individual work and socialization area.

“A new way to do innovation” is PwC’s mantra; and we add, a new space to support it, able to transfer the ability to think outside the box. A dynamic and creative place that combines skills, physical and tech tools and experimentation, to reach great results in few weeks, not months.
