Icon Modern releases Custom Outdoor Furniture Collection
Icon Modern’s custom outdoor furniture collection pays homage to local, handcrafted furniture built for durability while celebrating the vibrant Chicago maker community. The collection includes a collaboration with fellow Chicago-based furniture maker Zachary A. Design. Fusing together Zachary A. Design’s unexpectedly light material made up of composites and powerful concrete with Icon Modern’s signature wood and steel culminates into a neutral color palette that mimics its natural surroundings.
The collection is available now and features community, café and coffee tables, laptop tables, benches, stools, fire tables and planters. Accessories include furniture covers, umbrellas and ethanol burners + glass cases for the fire tables.
Designed with outdoor durability in mind, Icon Modern’s wood is engineered and fabricated as slats to allow for proper drainage and the steel is sandblasted, primed and powdercoated with an outdoor-appropriate finish.
Wood species options include cedar, thermally modified ash and ipe and any RAL color can be applied to steel. Zachary A. Design-collaboration pieces offer five finish color options of their material.
