Rotterdam’s Civil Service Office

Whenever I think of government offices, I usually think of junky old communist-style architecture that is both drab and boring. Luckily for employees of the city of Rotterdam, life isn’t all that bleak.

The office is wonderfully lit, with a nice collection of colorful furnishings and carpet selections to give some like to the white-washed walls and ceiling. The office also utilizes a file system of handcrank shelf units that don’t waste wall space with their width.  One of the features that is very common these days are the glass-walled office spaces.  Long conference tables are also present.  Overall, a great space.
