  • Digital Marketing Agency Wunderman recently moved into a new office in Irvine, California created by global architecture firm HOK. What they’ve created seems to be very colorful and creative – would love to see what its like in person. A bit about the project from HOK:

“Its leaders did not want a corporate-looking environment or a cubicle maze, but rather an eclectic, lounge-type atmosphere. They wanted low-level lighting, interesting textures and colors with a residential feeling.

HOK’s design provides an efficient workspace with less than 200 square feet per person. The space features a Knoll benching system, unique light fixtures, reclaimed wood, exposed concrete and an exposed ceiling with mechanical ducting. A pantry connects to a balcony that serves as a relaxed outdoor lounge.

Creativity is key to Wunderman’s identity. The challenge was to provide that creativity within a very defined, detailed space and tight budget. To help stay within the budget, HOK provided alternatives, such as using freestanding display areas in lieu of walls. The design features more exposed treated concrete and less carpet. Lower light levels require fewer light fixtures.

To offer the eclectic, residential feeling Wunderman was looking for, HOK used local residential furniture sources that provided quality products at a lower cost than many commercial lines.”
