Club Workspace’s New Pill Box Office Space
Workspace has designed and developed a new shared office space dubbed ‘The Pill Box’ in Bethnal Green, London from a transformed pharmaceutical building.
Originally a pharmaceutical manufacturing building, producing surgical instruments and operating tables for Barts Hospital, Allen & Hanbury’s ‘Pill Box’ is a fantastic heritage building.
The property had been bombed twice historically, and since that point had significantly deteriorated. Workspace took the building on, transforming it into impressive modern
studios whilst maintaining historical features such as the Water Tower, which provides a focal point and can be seen from the surrounding areas. The site has undergone a whole redevelopment programme taking into consideration customer needs and the local value of a historic building.
The innovative space supports new and growing businesses through Club Workspace, our co-working concept based at the front of Pill Box, through to a range of fixed units on flexible terms. The model is set up to support companies to expand and contract as required by the needs of the business.
The restoration of the building and retention of some of the historical features creates a building full of character which appeals to creative and innovative small businesses. The property, built over five storeys, consists of each studio having a mix of authentic brickwork combined with a pure-white colour scheme.
The new Front of House model incorporates Club Workspace and a new reception area with an award-winning café. We have introduced VGreet into the property, which allows customers to have their own interactive profile. Workspace listened to customers and delivered the option of flexible working with Club Workspace and private studios. The site also allows for events to take place in the open plan reception area. The property is fully hosted with internet, telephony, support and cloud services, with options to suit all customer needs.
