With its 60-person creative team, its mission is to create digital experiences for the internet. To fulfill this purpose, it is not only important to have an excellent team but also to have a workspace that facilitates creativity and allows for innovation and growth. The search for such a suitable location for elements.at was found within the historical walls of the Gusswerk, located in Salzburg.

Formerly a foundry, established in 1901 the building was used for the casting of bells. To reflect this heritage much of its infrastructure was retained, including several of the old machines. In just 3 months the entire hall was converted to an urban loft-office of approximately 1.800m². A key design goal was to provide a comfortable and functional working environment. The open plan nature of the office encourages communication and togetherness. A key feature is the play of lights in the 3 halls, numerous skylight windows have been added to provide contrasts between light and dark. The newly constructed atrium ensures a well of light and brings the “elements” within – be it sun, rain or snow!

For meetings 3 rooms were designed, including a cosy fireplace room, which creates a pleasant mood especially in the winter months. In addition, a larger presentation space serves not only as a chill-out area and quiet space, but is also suitable for larger events, lectures or video nights. Anyone needing a pause or distraction, need look no further than the swings and sun terrace.

Further development and evolution of the space will be possible due to the generous size and open plan nature of the former foundry.
