Conway MacKenzie – Atlanta Offices

NELSON has designed a new office space for Conway MacKenzie, a financial consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia.

When Conway MacKenzie made the decision to relocate from their suburban office to 1075 Peachtree in the heart of Midtown, Atlanta, they wanted their new workspace to reflect this change in scenery. Conway MacKenzie, a financial consulting firm, wanted the new urban office to appeal to their clientele, predominately male, and introduce new innovative ways for them to do business. This carved a clear direction for the look and feel of the space; a masculine, sophisticated and tailored palette utilizing traditional materials (woods, leathers, suede, stones) in a modern, clean application.

After analyzing the way they worked, it was apparent that there were distinct and separate client and employee-facing areas. Because of this, the planning concept immediately became about the client experience and organizing space in a way that would enable privacy when necessary, but also allow for flexibility and varying levels of formality. The lounge is one example of where this concept was implemented, being able to serve as the reception waiting area, an entertaining space for larger gatherings or for informal meeting and working space depending on the need.

Integration of technology was also important to the client so attention was given to custom millwork details, particularly at the media wall in the lounge. These elements were designed to neatly conceal the IT infrastructure necessary to support the ways Conway MacKenzie conducts business on a daily basis.
