HomeAway – Austin Offices
Perkins+Will has designed the new offices of vacation rental website HomeAway which are one of four located in Austin, Texas.
HomeAway’s office at the Domain is its fourth and largest office in Austin – with room to house more than 700 employees, it’s a vital part of HomeAway’s global operations.
Like all of HomeAway’s other 20+ offices, its Domain office was designed to make work feel like a vacation with features like a living moss birdhouse, Chuck Close-style vacation memory mural and even a 3D video tunnel featuring virtual vacation experiences. Other travel-inspired touches include travel souvenirs and birdhouses, including a huge collection of one-of-a-kind birdhouses crafted by employees.
Employee wellness is a priority: all employees receive sit-to-stand desks and have access to a private in-house gym with all-new fitness equipment. Unlimited healthy snacks and drinks await them in the massive, open-space kitchen, which is also home to the office’s Ping Pong tables, shuffleboard sets and outdoor party deck. The office’s collection of retro arcade games and shiny new gaming systems are just around the corner.
Finally, HomeAway’s Domain office wasn’t just designed with its employees in mind. Sustainable design features are evident throughout the building, which is currently being LEED certified.
