Profile Films Offices – Grand Rapids
Via Design and Square One have developed the new offices of Profile Films located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Via Design and Square One Design transformed a 73-year-old manufacturing building in Grand Rapids, Michigan, into the vibrant new headquarters of industrial film manufacturer, Profile Films.
Originally built in 1942, the building previously served as a factory for WWII glider parts and boat hulls, a General Motors parts plant, and a Lear seat-trim plant. In 2015, branding agency Square One Design collaborated with interior design firm Via to give new life to this historic building.
The new space preserves the beautiful wood beams, concrete floors, and exposed brick walls of the original site while making use of modern finishes, fixtures, and Profile’s signature blue color. Custom signage was designed with a translucent material inspired by Profile’s products and the company’s commitment to transparency in all of its operations.
The open kitchen, cafe, and lounge was designed to support Profile’s company-wide communication. Morning coffee, weekly meetings, and daily lunches all revolve around the large bar-height table. Private office and conference room “coves” with glass storefronts offer acoustic insulation while welcoming natural light.
