Datto Offices – Norwalk
CPG Architects have developed the new offices of data backup technology company Datto located in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Datto came to us with a desire to define their own look, and expand their fast growing space needs. They have a young staff and wanted to maintain their fun, playful ways. The color palette is bright and colorful, against a neutral field of white and grays. Open ceilings punctuate the corners and specialty areas, with glimpses of warm wood accents throughout.
The program was unique with many open areas for collaboration, eating, gaming, socializing and of course, working. Several unique components are a 200-seat “Town Hall” with an adjacent “Town Square” which includes a large open lounge area, bar with beer tap, pantry, dining area and a 60 ft. long ‘Lego Wall’ for individual expression and just plain entertainment. Other key areas include a 20 seat Boardroom and an 800 sf NOC Room – the tech hub of their organization. Special features include a cozy living room with seven sleep pods to support their 24/7 customer service employees, several gaming areas and a slushy machine with multiple flavors. The four-story office space is serviced by a color-branded interconnecting stair, which is rooted in a pool of shiny ball bearings, symbolic of Datto’s playful yet technical mission.
