  • Setter Architects has designed the new offices of video delivery infrastructure company Harmonic located in Caesarea, Israel.

The offices of Harmonic are spread over an area of 3,000 sqm. and divided into sections; each sections’ employees weighed in on the graphic and overall design thus creating an invigorating collaboration between the design team and client.

Setter Architects’ main objective was to create an optimal work setting. The design enables and encourages collaborations between singulars and teams all the while allowing the function of privacy to coexist.

Harmonic employees are seated in an open space setting; whereas the meeting rooms are located between the public passageway and the private work areas.

This kind of layout facilitates a natural and comfortable flow amongst the various functions: large formal meeting rooms as well as smaller less formal meeting rooms that seem to “float” in the space. These scattered floating islands are disconnected from the main ceiling, thus emphasizing the sense of independent rooms within a larger space. They are ideal for holding spontaneous on-the-go meetings!

A substantial part of the planning went into the design of the cafeteria and communal dining room. This is due to the shared believe of the designers and client that it is the main gathering area, and in fact generates the most significant interactions within the company.

The design team aimed to create an appetizing environment that is bright, spacious and colorful, with a coffee shop/ restaurant vibe; so naturally they made use of decorative light fixtures, colorful textiles, and industrial elements such as concrete, metal, mesh net and wood.
