Amenta Emma relocated within Downtown Hartford to a historic structure in the city center. Built in 1925 and repurposed in the late 1990’s, the building offered abundant natural light through its twelve-foot height “display windows”, a vestige of the building’s original intent as a mercantile use. The second floor glazing overlooks one of Hartford’s liveliest streets.

Amenta Emma stripped the interior back to its concrete encased street structure to take full advantage of the window glazings and tall floor to ceiling height. The light-filled new office provides a collaborative environment that promotes creativity and innovation. Private offices were eliminated in favor of an integrated studio setting. Formal conference spaces open to each other via 10’ tall sliding felt partitions.

The orange, white and grey color palette matches the company’s new branded website and identity package. Featured elements include multiple flexible meeting areas for informal design reviews, adaptive work stations that allow staff expansion and full integration of state-of-the-art technology for individual work areas and presentation spaces.
