  • Gensler has designed the global headquarters of iconic car manufacturer Cadillac located in New York City.

Located in the heart of Soho, it was crucial that Gensler’s design solution reflected the urban energy, creative spirit, and modern sophistication of New York City. The reception area exemplifies a sense of arrival—the leather-covered elevator lobby opens to a lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows framing unparalleled views of the Hudson River. Rather than a formal reception desk, a concierge greets guests for a more personalized experience.

Gensler designed a flexible, open layout with a variety of shared workspaces and amenities for the marketing and sales departments occupying the 35,000 square feet. Spanning two floors, the office is united by a dramatic interconnecting staircase. Bench-style workstations are positioned to leave abundant space along the perimeter for circulation and to maximize the distribution of natural light throughout the office.

The workplace creates a refined and luxurious environment for staff and visitors, as Cadillac’s cars do for their drivers and passengers. Custom millwork, carbon fiber conference table tops, and chrome-framed chairs subtly reference the car design, as do the sleek, streamlined furnishings, geometric precision patterns, and stitch detailing used throughout the space.

These details enhance not only the workplace experience, but also distinguish Cadillac from competitors. They are not solely car manufacturers, but creatives, engineers, salespeople, marketers, and car enthusiasts. Achieving the highest standards of performance, design, and technology is part of their heritage. The space represents a fresh identity, showing who Cadillac is, what makes Cadillac special, and how people can connect with the company in a meaningful way.
