Akamai Offices – San José
Arquitecto Daniel Lacayo & Asociados has designed the new offices of tech company Akamai, located in San José, Costa Rica.
Akamai is company dedicated to provide Content Delivery Network (CDN) services, making the Internet fast, reliable and secure for its customers.
This network concept is applied to the space by designing an hexagon shaped mesh that travels all over the work space on lighting fixures and floors comunicating the companie´s vision of multiple connections. The space is treated as a raw industrial floor plan with a floating lighting mesh that provides light to the space as a single element.
The company also provide to its employees wellness spaces like a gym, relaxation rooms, nursery room, private phone booths and colaborative areas. There are also showers for the people who goes to work by bike.
Break room and cafeteria are flexible spaces that can be integrated to develop activities for the whole team. The duality between work spaces and support areas reflects the possibility of being connected to a system or having a personal and individual space for each.
